Treat these with care and don't leave them in direct sunlight, and it'll probably last a few years. Bubble level, very smooth panning and tilting, relatively tight and stable, remote control zooming, recording and photo taking on the handle.
THERE ARE MANY SONY TRIPOD MODELS, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL OF THEM OUT BEFORE YOU PICK ONE. I have a Sony Z5 camera, so I know I should've bought the 300 dollar version of this tripod, which is probably more sturdy and durable.
We all know a decent pro tripod costs at least 300 bucks, but this one does a lot of stuff for a third of that. Sometimes it's not very clear what the differences are, though.
Since I could only afford this one, I have to admit it's pretty awesome considering the price. but to be lightweight and inexpensive, it had to sacrifice something: this one has some parts made in cheap plastic, like the hand crank to raise the height and the locking plate.
Definitely not the last tripod you'll every buy, but does the job.
Nice movement control, used mostly to film sporting events for the kids.A touch pricey ( $ 20.00 less. ) would be fine but well made,no bs.Nice case delivered on time. Thats what happens when you spend a little more.youre usually satisfied
Great product, my video has improved since I started using this product. Very smooth operation without jerky video. Especially smooth shots when using the controls on the handle.
very high quality tripod.very smooth in movement.I love the slow zoom and the grid buttons on the remote.the only negative that I can thing of is that the photo button is too close to the other buttons and I often inadvertantly take a photo.I am very pleased that I both this.
My main use for this tripod is to shoot video of my daughter's high school marching band performances. A tilt adjustment would eliminate this problem. The remote controls in the handle make for easy and smooth variable speed zoom transitions while panning and tilting.
The pan and tilt are very smooth with little or no break-away friction. My camcorder is a Sony HDR-SR10, and the remote control works perfectly with it.My only small complaint about this tripod is that I wish the handle had a tilt adjustment. This tripod works perfectly for me.
They allow for stopping and starting recording, turning the camera on and off, and even taking still photos. I'm usually shooting from high in the stadium stands or atop the press box, and often zoom in close from that distance. A solid tripod with smooth pan and tilt is essential when zooming in close as camera movements are exaggerated, and this tripod does the job.
With the tripod extended to its full height, unless you're well over 6' tall, you have to hold your hand and wrist up at a slightly uncomfortable position to get at the remote controls. Other than that, I love this tripod.
